How I work
More than anything, I enjoy working with others, co-producing knowledge, ideas and projects. I am lucky to have great academic colleagues within and beyond my institution who I share and develop work with. I also have great professional support staff who are critical to the work I do and whose help I really appreciate in developing and delivering projects and ideas.
I am committed to working with activists, policy makers and practitioners, formally and informally. The work I have enjoyed most as an academic has come through working alongside organisations and individuals, thinking through problems and challenges, trying to develop new approaches or exploring how research and knowledge might support what we are jointly trying to achieve. People I am currently or have worked with, in formal and informal ways, include: International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies; Swedish Red Cross; CAFOD; Voluntary Service Overseas; DEEEP (Developing Europeans' Engagement for the Eradication of Poverty); Christian Aid; Think-Global.
