Projects

These have focused on issues including refugee volunteering, climate change in deltas in Asia, youth citizenship, international volunteering and development, and volunteering in conflicts and emergencies. They have often brought together teams of academics and practitioners across global South and North, producing actionable insight and knowledge as well as making contributions to academic knowledge. To find out more visit the projects page. |
Publications
I publish in international peer-reviewed journals and books, as well as in formats for policy makers, practictioners and the wider public. You can find out more about my work on the publications page or on google scholar. |
Collaborations and consultancy
Most of my work is collaborative, whether with other researchers or in partnership with policy makers or practitioners, including leading global humanitarian and development organisations. I am committed to working in ways that challenge hierarchies around who counts as a researcher and knowledge producer, and this is reflected in my use of participatory approaches to research design and delivery, and to data collection, analysis and writing. To find out more about my approach to collaborating, visit the collaborations page. If you are interested in exploring a potential collaboration, contact me via email. |
